Four Reasons to Visit Utica October 14

If there were any upcoming day to be in downtown Utica, we recommend Saturday, October 14. There will be a whiffle ball tournament, a beer festival, a disc golf tournament, and a food truck rally.

Starting off the day at 10:30 a.m., the 2017 Wiffle Ball Tournament will take place at Jimmy Johns Field. Twenty teams will compete for prizes.

Then, at 3 p.m., Jimmy Johns Field will play host to the Ace Run Derby Disc Golf Tournament. Tickets are $15 and tee times are every hour on the hour from 3-7 p.m.

From 3-8 p.m., Jimmy Johns Field and USPBL will be the site of the 2017 Brew & Fall Fest. The highlight of the event: craft beer from more than 20 different local craft breweries. In addition, live music will be rocking from 4-8, there will be plenty of outdoor games and activities including cornhole and football, and Fall food options like apple cider, donuts, and caramel apples. Kids can get in on the fun with face painting, crafts and USPBL mascot meet & greets.

But wait, there’s more. The City of Utica will host its final Food Truck Rally of the year on the same day from 5-10 p.m. Bring your cooler, lawn chair, and your favorite people! Live music will be provided by the DC Marx Band and acoustic duo The Hideaways. Food trucks will be parked in the Utica Public Library lot and include Hero & Villian, Shredderz, The Mean Weenie, The Nosh Pit, Crepe Day-Twah, Buffy’s Mexi-Casian, The Happy Patty, Marconi’s Pizza, Treat Dreams, and a ‘Mystery Truck” to be announced soon. The event is free and open to the public. Beer and wine is also permitted within the limits of the event area.
