HUSBAND CHARGED WITH SHOOTING WIFE DIES IN HOSPITAL – On August 28 at approximately 8:50 p.m., Macomb County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to the residence on Mackenzie Dr. in Macomb Township to check the welfare of a 911 caller. Deputies were unable to make contact with anyone and had to force entry into the home. Once inside the home, deputies located a deceased elderly white female inside the master bedroom of the home. The female had multiple gunshot wounds to her head, leg, and hand. A white elderly male was located in the master bedroom bathroom of the home and had what is believed to be a gunshot wound to his head. The male was transported to the hospital for his injury. The death investigation was classified as a murder/attempt suicide. The deceased has been identified as Janet Nagy, 69, out of Macomb Township. The case was been presented to the Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office and a warrant was issued for the involved male; one count of Homicide – First Degree Murder – Multiple Theories (life felony) and one count of Weapons – Felony Firearm (2 year felony). On September 6, the male suspect, Jessie Nagy, 78, was pronounced dead in the hospital. Jessie Nagy died from complications from the self-inflicted gunshot wound on August 28.
STOLEN VEHICLE PURSUIT IN MACOMB TWP – On September 4 at 4:10 p.m., Macomb County Sheriff Deputies responded to a business near North Ave. and 21 Mile Road for a stolen vehicle report. The victim stated he was making a delivery to the business and had left his vehicle, a white Ford pick-up truck, running and unlocked. The victim stated that he observed an unknown white female get into the vehicle and drive away. Deputies searched the area and located the stolen vehicle traveling on westbound I-94. A vehicle pursuit began and resulted in a traffic crash at Harper Ave. and Quinn Rd in Clinton Township. The suspect crashed into a blue Ford Escape and a red GMC Terrain. The female suspect, 30, out of Mt. Clemens, was taken into custody and remains at the hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. Both drivers of the Ford Escape and GMC Terrain were also taken to the hospital for injuries. One driver has been released and the other continues to receive treatment for what is believed to be non-life threatening injuries at this time. The Macomb County Prosecutor has issued a four count warrant for the female; one count of Unlawful Driving Away (5 year felony), one count of Fleeing, Third Degree (5 year felony), one count of Assaulting or Obstructing a Police Officer (2 year felony), and once count of Operating While intoxicated (controlled substance) Causing Serious Injury (5 year felony). The suspect is expected to be arraigned later this week. Macomb Auto Theft Detectives continue to investigate this incident.
