ATV COMPLAINTS PICK UP. Shelby Township Police have responded to multiple complaints of various ATVs riding around in the area. In the past week, they have responded to the areas of Palace Court & Caesars Drive, Post St & Jeffry, and Crystal Lake Drive on reports of dirt bikes, mopeds, and ATVs. In all instances, by the time police arrived, the motorists had dispersed.

FACEBOOK NEWS PAGE MACOMB COUNTY SCANNER shared a post from Macomb Township resident Jeremy Fischer, who has filed a police report accusing a group of young dirt bikers of destruction of property. Fischer caught these four dirtbike riders with a trail camera on his family’s property in Macomb Township at 24 Mile and Card. He said the riders have been tearing up their property and when his father recently tracked them down and asked them to stop riding, he said one of the kids kicked the bedside in on his dad’s Ranger. Fischer is offering a cash reward for any information that leads to their identification.

KIDS SHOOTING GEESE WITH BB GUN. Police responded to Crystal Lake Drive on reports that a group of teenage kids were “using (a) gun to shoot at geese.” The caller told dispatch that they were using a black handgun, believed to be a BB gun but the caller could not see an orange tip. The caller said that he yelled at the kids and they ran off, but he thinks they will be back. When police arrived on scene, they did not find any of the kids or suspicious activity in the area.

POTENTIAL SQUATTERS. A caller notified police dispatch of a house on Winthrop Street that might be occupied by squatters. The caller said there were no cars in the driveway and the house has a troubled history of squatters. The caller stated they heard a loud noise and saw an unknown male subject wearing a hoodie and jeans by the garage. It was unknown whether or not the subject was trying to gain access to the home, but when police arrived, they found nothing inside the house.

KNOCK KNOCK. WHO’S THERE? A female caller notified police of a suspicious person outside her home on Berkshire Drive. Someone had knocked on her door two times, but she did not recognize the person. She told police she was very scared. Luckily, she was able to identify the person, who said they had the wrong house and the report was cancelled.

YOU CALLED POLICE FOR THIS? Police responded to a Citizen Assist call on Whitby Way. The caller said their neighbor’s mail was accidentally delivered to them and asked police to turn it over to the neighbor. It is unclear why the caller was incapable of completing the task on their own.

SLEEPING UNDER OVERPASS. Dispatch sent police to the area of M53 & 21 Mile Road on a welfare check. The caller said a man in a white shirt and jeans was walking North bound just South of 21 Mile. When police arrived on scene, they found the man sleeping under the 21 Mile Road overpass. Police ran his information and found no warrants and dropped him off at the 26 Mile Meijer.
