Police Patrol

Shelby, Utica, Macomb

TEACHER ARRESTED FOR CHILD SEXUALLY ABUSIVE ACTIVITY The Macomb County Sheriff’s Office MACE unit arrested 57-year-old Gerald Holley in Ann Arbor for child abusive sexual activity and using a computer to commit a crime. He is a teacher and coach at Pioneer High School in Ann Arbor. MACE detectives were made aware of a male on social media who they believed to be a sexual predator. An undercover MACE detective engaged in conversations with the man, who requested to have sexual relations with who he believed to be an underaged child. The detective set up a meeting with the man, in which the man believed he was meeting with the child. He was arrested at on location. Holley was charged with three felony counts of Child Sexually Abusive Activity and one felony count of Computers-Internet-Communicating With Another to Commit Crime. Each count of Sexually Abusive Activity carries a maximum penalty of 20 years, with the computer crime carrying a maximum of 15 years to life. He was given a $50,000 with 10% bond, and upon release, is not allowed to have any direct or indirect contact with minor children, and cannot use the internet. Holley is due back in the 41-B District Court of Clinton Township on October 25 for a probable cause conference. “As often occurs in cases such as this, this man pursued a career which surrounded him with young people,” said Macomb Prosecutor Eric Smith. “I urge parents to remain vigilant of all those who supervise their children, even longstanding ‘authority’ figures. The predators are out there, and they make it their business to get right next to your kids.”

DEFINITELY SOUNDS SUSPICIOUS. Victim entered the substation indicating he had discovered through creditkarma that a DIRECTV account had been opened in his name using his social security number. There was one address listed in Iowa and one in Los Angeles opened at the same time. Victim believes the suspect is a DIRECTV employee because on the same day the account was opened he was shopping for new cable television prices and DIRECTV made him divulge his social security number for a quote. The fraudulent accounts were opened that day. DIRECTV requested a police report prior to their investigation.

Note: If you have any information on the aforementioned crimes or any other offenses, please call the Macomb County Sheriff at 586-469- 5151.
