For the second year in a row, Suburban Subaru of Troy selected Paws for Life Animal Rescue, also based in Troy, as its Subaru Share the Love® Event “Hometown Charity.”
Subaru of America’s Share the Love Event raised $18,435.49 for Michigan’s Paws for Life Animal Rescue, which The Suburban Collection is matching.
“We are gratified that so many of our Subaru customers chose this local charity for the donation,” said David T. Fischer, President and CEO, The Suburban Collection. “Paws for Life is a wonderful organization dedicated to animal welfare in our community. We know this money will greatly underscore their mission.”
For its Share the Love Event, Subaru of America, Inc., agreed to donate $250 per new vehicle sold or leased between November 17, 2016 and January 2, 2017. Customers could select which charity they wanted the money to go during the closing, and were given a choice of donating to either ASPCA, Make-a-Wish, Meals on Wheels America, National Park Foundation or a local “Hometown Charity” of the dealerships’ choosing.
Money donated will benefit Paws for Life, a not-for-profit animal welfare organization that rescues homeless, neglected, abused and abandoned dogs, cats, puppies and kittens from overflowing shelters. Paws for Life mission is to find the best homes possible for the homeless pets in their care, they operate under the philosophy of do no harm. The generous donation from Subaru of America and Suburban Subaru will provide critical funding, so the organization can rescue more animals.
“Paws for Life appreciates and values our partnership with Suburban Subaru,” said Courtney Protz-Sanders, executive director of Paws for Life Animal Rescue. “We love it when businesses support their community and what better combination? Quality cars and amazing companion animals … all looking for a forever home.”
