In today’s media echo chamber, how do you separate fake news from verified reporting? How can you spot biased coverage? Do you trust journalists to fulfill their watchdog role objectively?
As part of the Rochester Hills Public Library’s Share Truth campaign, Wall Street Journal Detroit bureau chief John Stoll will present a lecture on media ethics Tuesday, April 11 at 7 p.m.
“The only currency a reporter has with the public is the trust he earns,” says Stoll. “I want to help the audience understand the history and process behind how real journalists go about covering the issues people care about.”
Join the Rochester Hills Public Library Thursday, April 13 from 7 PM – 8:30 p.m. as author John Kozak visits to talk about his new book, Through the Eyes of Rose.
The book details the story of Rose Kozak and how she successfully defied the Czechoslovakian Communists in October 1949 and escaped with her children through the wilderness of the Bohemian Forest to the freedom of West Germany.
The Rochester Hills Public Library is located at 500 Olde Towne Road in Rochester. RHPL programs are for residents, and non-residents are welcome if there is space available.
